Are venomous animals/predators really something you have to take care of all the time or just a meme?

I like to swim away from people but when I went to Australia I stayed with the crowds, because I was thinking the chances of a jellyfish or sea snake or whatever attacking me would be lower if they got to someone else first lol
but otherwise I actually forgot to worry about insects and stuff, although on a hike I was constantly being followed by these two ravens, and I got jumpscared by a really large fat black lizard who crossed the path I was on
