My parents moved here as Christian (copt) Egyptian immigrants. I'm more loyal to Australia and absolutely hated living even briefly in Egypt. However Egypt is an oasis of relative stability in MENA. In my opinion that's because we've maintained separation of church and state but also because no other MENA country has the geopolitical stability that the Nile provides.Egypt is not an oil state like the Saudis so there is *some* incentive to actually look after the people (exhibit A, the billions we spent to finally get rid of hepatitis). That being said, a big chunk of Egyptians are dirt poor and they are completely priced out of emigrating.Christian Egyptians only move to places with established copt churches which means Canada, USA, Australia and maaaaaaaybe Germany. This means travelling by sea but also these are some of the most expensive countries to move to. Becoming a citizen in Australia can be stupid expensive.A big issue is the breaking up of families. It's socially insane for a woman to emigrate by herself, meaning the only time Egyptian women immigrate is almost IMMEDIETELY after marriage; any delay and their social circles become fractured. I have never once met an Egyptian girl like OP's pic. This level of self-fetishization (especially that Ankh necklace) is a dismal thing to watch. My mother has blatantly she said she's happy for me to marry a white girl who gets baptised and I agree.
