Your blood and your history is something that cannot be rewritten, and even if you try to distance yourself, you will always be linked to your homeland both through your ancestors, your blood or even just habits and mannerisms you've picked up that are only exhibited by people from your country. I've always loved France but at the end of the day, I do not have the blood of a Frenchman nor were my ancestors part of their history as the people that built their civilisation, I can respect their country and culture but unfortunately I am not one of them and it is not something I will ever be part of. I think it's best to remember that you will be tethered to your home country in some way or another and accept that. It won't ever go away, so even if you detest your people, culture and the land you're from, trying to hold fondness for them in spite of your distaste is the only way to go about it without hating yourself for things you cannot change.
