You learn more about culture through your language.Information between people from your culture is shared through the common language you share. You can look up sources on your culture from the perspective of your own kind instead of that of an outsider. An outsider can still become part or come closer to your culture by learning your language however. You gain more insight on culture by learning its language and understanding its nuance and the way people think in said culture. If you don't know your language you lose your culture. If you lose your culture you lose your identity. If you lose your identity you're more prone to getting assimilated. This has been taken advantage of by dominant cultures in the past and also in the present which is seen in governments forbidding or suppressing the language of their ethnic minority subjects. Thanks for listening/reading my awfully obvious take.

>>217430577Japanese is my culture because I said so ok
>>217430577Why the fuck would you need some pointless culture for your identity.Make your identity things you like, I like Japanese culture so I'm making it my identity and follow its rules. What is identity anyway, who cares, just be yourself and do what you want, what excites you. Asians excites me that's it.
