I make 137k a year and my parents only help by paying my rent (4k a month 3 bedroom in SF) and an extra 4k a month for "Breathing room" I told them after moving to SF I met many other cultured people from many nations and it's considered normal for parents to give more money to their kids. I accused them of being selfish and now they're pretty upset and asking for an apology in the venmo memo. To be honest, I just feel they should do their duty. My lifestyle choices in a high cost of life city don't leave me so much breathing room. And in SF to know the right people you can't be miserly.
NTA - you didn't ask to be born. They brought you into the world for their own reasons, not yours. Thus, they owe you, not the other way around.
