I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with explicit government promotion of culture.Admittedly, SKGov's Hallyu policy did negatively my view of K-Culture as it makes me suspicious of it.Actually, I sometimes wonder if Chinese culture like Genshin Impact or ZZZ is pushed by the CGov to promote China.I'm sure China is promoting themselves, but the government being assholes makes people dislike their cultural output, which is a shame.I always wondered that the people who play those games are shills or foreign operative attempting to increase China's standing.So, C-Culture is also suspicious.ACTUALLY actually, I read here about "Cool Japan" and found out that Japan also promotion of their culture!It makes me wonder if Japanese culture would have the impact it has today without JPGov intervention.Like would anime be as popular without this support?Would have this very website existed without that push?Maybe it would have still happened as Japan was competitive in the late 1900s, with the technology boom.ACTUALLY ACTUALLY actually, don't alot of East Asian countries do this.
