The basics of conversation requires engaging the other party's interest. If you can't do this, you lack fundamental social skills necessary even for paleolithic humans.
>>
Conversation is obviously going to be far easier for tribal people that need to be around each other 24/7 and cooperate daily to survive. You are an idiot.

I can do it easily with men but not souch women.
Also the more you actually do in your life the more you have to talk about so it's kinda simple thing to develop. Simple not easy.

Conversation became easy once I realized humans were simpler animals than what I thought. That doesn't mean I like it still.

no, i can’t even hold normal conversation with members of my own immediate family. i’m sure im in the 99th percentile for social retardation

At the very least, you should have a social circle that will help you if you're injured and buy food for you sometimes, which is enough to fulfill those basic criteria.
>>217581229
Why not? I enjoy the simplicity of chatting with people about mundane stuff, especially if it's related to nature or food.
>>
>>217581144
yea, but my strategy is to make jokes
for example, i picked up a box of dog biscuits at the store and i justified my purchase by saying i got hungry
if you are comfortable around someone, you can tease them without offending them
>>
very easily on a shallow level (i am a retail part-timer) but that doesn't mean i like it
>>
>>217581615
What kind of conversations would you prefer to have instead? Would you want to have them at all?

I think Reddit is more your speed buddy
>>
>>217581144
I can't

Their norms are too complicated. The best conversational norms in a community are simple and grounded.

No. I just react with gestures and listen until they get bored and leave me alone. Also, I don't understand the need to talk for the sake of sociability, I need some objectives that the two parties engage with (like playing online game, consuming/doing the same stuff) in order to find a reason to talk and keep the conversation flowing.
>>
>>217581144
I talk when there's something to talk about.
>>
not my problem

I'm not good at having sincere converesations
But I am good at making people laugh
like what this anon said >>217581569

Regardless, I hope everyone keeps improving.

Don't worry. Sometimes you just haven't found sincere people yet.
>>
Sure but most conversations end up with the other person talking about themselves most of the time so I'll just nod and go uh huh every once in a while.
>>
It took me way too long to realize that other people don't care to listen to me talk and would prefer if I made them felt heard.
So now I focus on figuring out what questions the other person wants to be asked while splicing in an occasional anectode that does not undermine their story and ego stroking so the conversation doesn't feel like an interview
>>
>>217584606
personal anectode, not anectode as in a joke, but I throw a couple of those in as well.
The last thing left to master is intelectually challenging them so that they feel engage but don't feel like I am trying to put them in a "gotcha" moment
>>
>>217584606
I do this.
