>nooooooooooooooo you cant just provide entertainment to you child on long car ride!!!
Unc acting like he wasn't playing his gameboy and desperately trying to get the sun to hit the screen just right so he could see what the fuck was going on in game

Actually my mom believed some boomerlore about how reading/watching things in the car would apparently harm your eyes because of the vibrations. So I was forced to stare out the window and just straight imagine things.
On the plus side now I can flip a red apple around in my head and make it explode into the word "TRANNYFAGGOT" vividly while also having a soijak dancing in the corner at the same time.

I was busy trying not to puke all over the car to be able to play games

Yes, but it's nothing new. Parents are lazy and this is just the new tool for them to be lazy with.

For me it was by streetlamp.

we would listen to CD's or draw road signs and try to "collect" as many different types as possible

All of those sanctions against a free internet could be solved by parents actually caring about their children and not giving them a phone/tablet in order to put them into quasi-stasis.

>long car ride
A 10 min drive to Shartmart isn't long.

My parents had mini TVs that strapped to the back of the car seats they were very small screens but it beat staring outside the window or trying to sleep the entire car ride we would watch open season and pirates of the caribbean and play Star Wars Battlefront on the PS2

>he never went on an 8 hour road trip before
Very common thing in America
>>

Doesn't a roadtrip contain multiple smaller stops in order to do sightseeing?
Anyways when we drove to Austria for our winter vacations (9 h drive) I just read, slept or watched the road.
Even nowadays when I'm a passanger I don't look at my phone.

>Americans have literally never heard of a book

I trained my kids to fall asleep in the car on long trips. It makes life easier for everyone. I get to drive in peace. They essentially go into suspended animation and wake up arriving at the destination.

I remember playing on my DS with my sister on long car rides whenever we went on vacation, good times :')

Some shit is genuinely just hard
