Why are the Japanese so behind in whole brain scanning / brain emulation?

That should be right up their alley right?

?

the only companies that are actually making progress on brain scanning are in the USA. why is Japan not working on this?

what's so funny
>>
>In one example, a monkey was allegedly found missing some of its fingers and toes “possibly from self-mutilation or some other unspecified trauma.” The monkey was later killed during a “terminal procedure,” the group said in a copy of the complaint shared with The Post.
>In another case, a monkey had holes drilled in its skull and electrodes implanted into its brain, then allegedly developed a bloody skin infection and had to be euthanized, according to the complaint.
>In a third instance, a female macaque monkey had electrodes implanted into its brain, then was overcome with vomiting, retching and gasping. Days later, researchers wrote that the animal “appeared to collapse from exhaustion/fatigue” and was subsequently euthanized. An autopsy then showed the monkey had suffered from a brain hemorrhage, according to the report.
>Additional veterinary reports show the condition of a female monkey called “Animal 15” during the months leading up to her death in March 2019. Days after her implant surgery, she began to press her head against the floor for no apparent reason; a symptom of pain or infection, the records say. Staff observed that though she was uncomfortable, picking and pulling at her implant until it bled, she would often lie at the foot of her cage and spend time holding hands with her roommate.
>Animal 15 began to lose coordination, and staff observed that she would shake uncontrollably when she saw lab workers. Her condition deteriorated for months until the staff finally euthanized her. A necropsy report indicates that she had bleeding in her brain and that the Neuralink implants left parts of her cerebral cortex “focally tattered.”

why are SEAsians obsessed with drilling holes into monkey's skulls

Japanese corporations hate emulation

Japan peaked in small precise mechanics in the 90s, not software.

>third world country should be top tier in tech
bro...

wtf are you talking about
japan has more nobel prizes than israel

Japan can't use slaves for experiments like China does, so it can't be helped.
>>
>>217614846
Ok but why is China not advanced in brain scanning tech though
I'm just curious why the USA is the only company working on this at all
>>
>>217614846
This is imprtant tech isn't it?

Is the ability to upload consciousness not a central topic in sci fi? Ghost in the shell literally was based on this. So why aren't any Japanese companies doing it
>>
>>217614873
It's because they excel at keeping information secret that you can only obtain such false information. In reality, they have advanced their technology more than any other country in the world by sacrificing Uyghurs and others.

The Japanese government planned to invite Itzhak Bentov to teach in Japan but he unfortunately died in a plane crash

If OP is referring to medical equipment, Canon just released a new CT machine that can scan patients while they are standing up while old CT machines require patients to lie down.
>>
>>217614971
I'm partially referring to medical equipment, in the sense that brain scanning and uploading necessarily requires this equipment.

The sensor stack needed to produce a whole brain emulation on a computer is still not understood, we don't even know basics of how the brain works. It's crazy that something so fundamental to life is still so opaque.

Lain gantz texhnolyze nier automata ergo proxy etc all warned them
Instead of dipping into a fantasy project with no light at the end of the tunnel they spent time studying scenarios and found out transhumanism can never be beneficial for humans

For example, if illegal immigrants increase in Japan in the future, and if their nationalities have been revoked, that technology will likely advance significantly.

This joke wasn't even funny when you posted it the first time hiro. Definitely doesn't require 3 posts explaining in detail what you meant

Ha ha, normally, in the world, if you want an organ transplant, you have to wait about three to five years, but in China, it's possible within a month.

fucked up shit even if it's just a moneky
they should test this shit on musk and techbros themselves instead
>>
>>217613801
>peaked in small precise mechanics in the 90s
It also peaked in software. Catch is - for the most part it fucking stayed there, right at the peak of 90th software

Japs believe everything living or non-living have a "spirit". Therefore, such endeavours are redundant.
