Fun fact: Until radio and television homo-genised our dialects, there was a complete continuum of culture from the northern tip of Norway to southern Jutland. There was no real border beyond the political one between different Norsemen. Foreign powers (Germany, Russia traditionally) have wanted us to identify as three separate races, but we have always been one. To me, a Sunnmøring of western coastal "Norway", there is nothing I have in common with Osloites that I wouldn't also have in common with Jutlanders and Svealanders beyond what TV programmes I watched as a kid. We have the same ancient language, cuisine, fashion, architecture, mentality and history. I am no longer "Norwegian", I am a Norseman of the Northlands.
