Crazy to think that 500 years ago:>there were no potatoes in Ireland>there were no tomatoes in Italy>there were no chili peppers in Thailand
>>217636935what is he eating?
>>217636963My cum
A lot of the key ingredients for the cuisine of most European countries were brought into the continent by Asspain.>tomatoes for Italy>potatoes for Northern Europe>chocolate/cacao for the Swiss>paprika for Hungary & Turkey>vanilla, pepper, avocados, peanuts, etc. Also brought dairy to the New World. For the Aztecs and Incas, cheese and other dairy products were completely unknown.I can't even imagine what the hell Europeans even ate before the 1500s. All the recipes I've seen from before then are super mediocre.

>>217637126>>chocolate/cacao for the SwissWhat's with this meme that chocolate is somehow Swiss cuisine when everybody makes it?
>>217637126You forgot to add that those Spanish traders settled in the Americas and thus those that stayed in Europe aren't related to them
>>217636963Potatoes, tomatoes and chili
>>217637186everybody also eats tomatos and potatos
>>217637217TrueAlso applies to conquistadores and settlers. So the nos robaron el oro argument should be directed at yourselves. Your great x8 grandfather was a conquistador and nutted in a qt Indian girl and then built a house somewhere and raised a family there
>>217636935>>217637126those old world cunts ripped us off and are paying no royalties
>>217636935Anyone who wasn't white european wasn't considered as human but another species
>>217638030Not true about indios. The church spent a century politicking over it.
>>217636935We were eating tree bark 500 years ago
>>217636935Also>there were no bananas in Ecuador>there was no coffee in Colombia
>>217637345that's true too, this appropriating of basic ingredients and dishes eaten by everybody is retarded
>>217636935I remember they added the "biological exchange" into our history textbook ten years ago so now every kid know this from get go and only old people are surprised by thisOur textbook got a special section about how sweet potato were introduced from Manila under Spainish rule. I think Chinese textbook would tell a story about smuggling it out of Spanish control.
>>217636935I honestly can't imagine what Thai cuisine would be like without being hot enough to give you molten lead sharts.
>>217636935i had a tism moment and only ate ingredients that would exist in the archaic Mediterranean and honestly it wasn't that bad luckily chicken was in the region by then
>>217639258Speaking of this I watched a tourist show. They interviewed this old lady working on "authentic Thai foods" and said "actually my ancestors didn't have chili or butter they were brought in by Europeans. They are good ingredients but not what I try to remake"
>>217639332that's just called girldinner
>>217636935Wtf did Italians even eat?
