The central square of the town of Tiksi. The city is located somewhere in the ass of a horse in Siberia, the nearest major city, Yakutsk, is 1300km along the river. There are no roads to the city, the only means of transport are waterways when they are not frozen in the summer and a small, cramped airport. In winter, the sun does not rise in December or January, and the average temperature is -30 degrees. And yet, about 5,000 people live in this backwater.
