but in my personal experience, 花椒 causes more stimulation to my palate and has reddish color.
山椒 is more homely both in effect and appearance.

I checked it and it says it's mostly horse radish with a little amount of actual wasabi added.
I myself didn't know that, but I didn't believe we had consumed real wasabi neither, because the casual tube wasabi here obviously contains some additional starchy component.
