It must suck being an Irish or Scottish person with an American sounding accent. You have all of the negatives of being Irish or Scottish, but you don't get the free pussy you'd normally get.

Do people like that exist?
>>
>>217647000
yeah
sometimes you can only tell by how they pronounce t/tt.
>>
>>217647154
the americanised glottal t ("wadder" for water) is spreading rapidly, particularly among middle class millennial/zoomer girls
dublin accents are as ugly as ever, but they're morphing towards peaky blinder roadman estuary english english accents, all over the place
the hard-t sound (tree and three being homophones) is ugly and not part of all accents, it doesn't come from Irish since t is pronounced like in thief

Brits think my accent is American while Irish guess it's English.

Sorry anon when I went on my great Celtic sex tour I didn’t realize I’d affect local culture so much.

Do you have autism? Middle class autistic kids in Ireland speak with an American accent.

no, i just watched only the bbc growing up but pronounce the irish r

yes, my accent isnt fully there but its quite close to an american one. like >>217653705 said, its mostly found in middle class zoomers (more specifically rural zoomers, or so ive heard) because they didn't grow up in an overly social environment like the working class irish do. its not a social death sentence per se, but it basically tells everyone that you are either autistic or that you spent all of your formative years in front of a screen instead of out playing with kids your age, or that you just simply use the internet too much. it's only becoming more and more common by the year

I live in a village in a rural area and have never really heard it except when I go to large towns and over hear Americanised middle class teen weirdos talking. Some of them aren't even autistic but they're into cringe American sub culture like goths and gamer and shit. 98% of zoomers aren't like that here though and are normal and much the same as my generation and keep the local accent and slang going.

yeah, i remember the other day i was in a nerdy sort of shop, comic books, manga, funko pops, action figure collectibles, etc. i overheard 2 teenage girls talking, probably about 14-15 years old with dyed hair, pride flag pins and a bunch of gay accessories. i stopped to pause and listen for a bit because i couldn't tell if they were purebred americans or just really americanised irish people and so i was sort of curious. my accent, and the accents of many of my friends are definitely americanised, but theres a subtlety you can distinguish even between highly americanised irish voices vs actual american ones, thoughbeit its hard to point out. i stood there for like a minute trying to figure out if they were american or not until i heard one pronounce a word in a semi-irish sounding way, which i took to mean that they werent actual from muttmerica. i doubt this would be such a common occurrence 20 or even 15 years ago
