>>217664454People today who are absolute professionals of knowing better than the peoples of the past will tell you that eastern Romans weren't actually Romans because the city of Rome wasn't in their administrative borders (despite the fact that the city of Rome would become irrelevant and Constantinople was the center of Rome and Roman culture) and because they spoke Greek (which didn't seem to make them any less Roman to any of their contemporaries including Romans in the west).
