How come going to a restaurant in Japan is so comfy when it's extremely uncomfy (rude staff, very long wait times, waiter won't come take the order, want to pay and leave but waiter is nowhere to be found, unpleasant, loud people everywhere) and financially disastrous (plus minimum 25% tip) in anglo countries?
everything in the west sucks now, it's been like this for at least a decade if not far longer
I wish I could be rude in a customer service job. Westerner wagies are lucky, I'll get sued here.
>>217666418>go to a restaurant>flabby tatted up waitresses are grimacing at everyone, no matter how nice or attractive>can hear them, sometimes even see them chattering and laughing on their phones in the kitchen entrance while people wait to have their order taken and hot food is getting cold waiting to be brought to tables>waitress goes from "look at me tolerating you because it's my job" to "frigid silently seething cunt" if the tip is under 20%, or even 30%I only eat out when it's a social obligation except for two places with friendly staff and quick service (both are Asian places with no white holes waiting).
I'll agree with you on the expense, but, at least in my town, the servers are all generally quite friendly to neutral. The only "rudeness" I see is when a 35 year old is at the end of a busy shift and doesn't have the energy left to smile, which I relate to as someone who has done that job. Most of what I see is some poor dude trying his best to do his job. That being said, locally owned and operated places generally have a far better vibe than the chain stores which are soul sucking. Also, 15% tip is the actual minimum, and if your complaining about unpleasant and loud fellow patrons you're just anti-social my man.
