Rural people who moved to the city, did you suffer a shock in this new environment?
Maybe because I'm from a different culture, but I'm surprised by how forward the city people are. The themes of the conversations and the indiscreet personal questions, too many things they talk about are just too intimate and make me feel sort of ashamed. Is this common? How did you deal with it? Any tips?

What shocked me was the filth and the smell but the wages in the city are 5x bigger and there are no jobs back in my province and the people are still the same.

Same here. I would love to go back, but we had to let the land rest for 2 years before planting stuff again and, now, I'm in the city making more money.

Absolutely. The only difference is the culture I was raised in.
Natives, specially from the Chaco, tend to be closer to each other and follow a different patch compared to the ones standard Brazilians like to go.

it must be hard to move to a 3rd world city stuffed and overcrowded with millions of people, high crime, drugs, death and favelas, from the lovely peaceful countryside
