i’m an elected official in my country

what do you think of your elected officials in your country?
>>
>elected officials in the US browse 4chan in 2k25
Fucking grim
>>

my father was an unelected official here, i want to be an official too no matter elected or not, out of dedication and improving the country not self serving
>>
>>217680614
i lowkey heard there's positions where there's hardly anyone applying for so you can basically get a free job if you submit the right form to the government/municipality.
i kinda wanna research it to get an easy paycheck but the thought of filling out forms gives me a headache id kill myself if i had to do that for work.
>>
>>217680642
uh yeah, havent you seen our current government?
>>
>>217680614
Elected officials in my country are often part of well-established political dynasties. My province's governors have come from the same family since the 90s, and my town's mayor and vice-mayor are father and son.
Anyway, are you friendly with your fellow elected officials in your country?
>>
>>217681013
yeah i’m just working in my local municipality (population 100k) and it’s pretty comfy. i don’t make s ton of money but it’s nice to have some more powerful connections in my local and state governments

String them up, cut them with razor blades, dump salt on them, light a butane fire under their feet until they die

Not surprised desu, we're reaching a point where users who grew with 4chan, tumblr, reddit, etc. can now reach political positions. Good for you, I hope your career grows more in the future.

liberal Democracy +representative is fucking awful and only good for subverting peoples actual democratic will while disempowering them. direct democracy is the literal only good form with representatives ONLY WHERE ABSOLUTELY NESSECARY who are recallable immediately with no term limits of they are doing a shit or good job, just as Marx said and Stalin shat all over.
near everyone in UK gov is subhuman, retarded, a careerist or medicore

most are retarded because the skillful people seek out much better paying positions in private companies. And some are outright psychopaths who just want power, whilst the good people who are averse to power don't run for office. I think instead of elected officials, we should have a system of forcefully conscripting skillful people against their will into the position. this would fix both problems. you have jury-duty in the USA, something similar should be done for politics.

How much does Isreal pay?
>>
>>217680614
We don't have that.
But I am an official. I became one directly through a policy in 2018, without any assessment. Whenever I think about my decision, I feel like I was a fucking genius.

i’m too insignificant to have an AIPAC guy but i did get invited to a “Jewish [My Citians] Council” meeting one time. if i get an offer from AIPAC I’m definitely taking it though, sorry palibros i just need my bag
>>
>>217680614
I think poorly of them. What are your politics, how did you get elected?
>>
>>217682453
>what are your politics
without doxxing myself, i focused heavily on overhauling our city’s decaying energy grid and energy affordability
>how did you get elected
the other guy dropped out after a series of health-related issues
>>
>>217682516
running an ac unit costs $2 a day. energy doesn't need to be cheaper. there are a thousand better priorities
im guessing you already knew this though and threw in that vague populist position to get the retarded masses to vote for you so that you could fix that decaying energy grid, which is something actually worth doing
>>

isn't it better for elected official to be well aware of the current cultural landscape in 2k25, instead of being out of touch carer politicians?

Massively hit and miss sorts. More miss now days since half of all elected officials here are culture warrior faggots rather than people concerned with representing their constituent's interests.

Good. Much better than some focus on.

>i’m an elected official in my country
It is a great honor to hear from you, assuming you are the Rt. Hon. Zebulon “Zeb” Towne of Duxbury, Vermont, this proud nation’s only elected dog catcher.

Otherwise I am tempted to call bullshit, because if nothing else you should be working. What is your position? How long have you had it, and why did you run for it? Assuming it’s a minor/local office, how much of your time does it require? What’s your day job?

>what do you think of your elected officials in your country?

I like some of my elected officials a great deal; I mostly like our locals. Very locally, a member of our city council is probably going to sell me a house (the city council is a very very part-time job in our burgeoning metropolis of 20K people, so she spends most of her time as a realtor). At the national level my feelings are mixed. By no means uniformly negative/“they’re all the same and they all suck,” which I just find childish, but there are both honorable public servants and reprehensible scumbags to be found.
