French is the ultimate “we sell you the idea of fanciness with our mid food”. Contrast with Italian food which is actually both unique and amazing tasting not just salted chicken with black pepper. Also as far as duck is concerned, I can Peking duck which is 100z tastier than French duck, better prepared and more flavorful, for a half the cost.
