So this is why Americans get rid of their kids on their 18th birthday, because they think they have to babysit them for a decade and a half before they can be left alone, lol. By the time they turn 18, they’re already exhausted.

My parents accidentally left me home alone (older sister was supposed to come home early from school, she didn't) when I was like 5. I didn't set the apartment on fire so they basically decided it was fine to leave me alone from that point on.
