Why do people hate on San Francisco so much?

They have some cringe lefty policies that let criminals get away with too much but it's still a pretty great place overall. People mostly hate it because it's successful and lefty. Same reason why flyovers hate California in general.

schizoid Americans have never left their hometown so they don’t know

fox news constantly shows three year old footage of some homeless people standing around on a street not really doing anything and angry culture war boomers think that's the whole city and some illiterate fent addicts 2,000 miles away are somehow making it impossible to mow their lawns or grill

I'm a flyoverfag, I don't hate California, its a lovely place to visit. Sure as hell isn't worth actually living there though.

Most people's experience with California is sitting around LAX while the plane people fix their shit for four hours

Dio, come si è impoverito questo inglese. Suona ormai come una lingua di inferiori.

I was there 2 weeks ago they finally removed the fentanyl addicts and homeless camping on the sidewalks. The tenderloin was not even that bad.

It was awful a few years back when I had to visit for business. Guess they improved leadership

Seems like a pretty place.

1. It's completely unaffordable to live in unless you're a tech worker (10% of the population at this point)
2. Drug addicts engaging in counter-social behavior are everywhere, openly using in public, because the government refuses to prosecute them
3. Both of these things are the result of their very progressive government enacting the same left wing policies they insist are superior, both in terms of morals and efficacy, to what the rest of the country believes in

It's just prosecutorial discretion. Especially in big cities they have to pick and choose what their priorities are, and even if there are 100 murders, 200 rapes, and 10,000 drug use cases, most of the time they'll want to work on the violent crime cases.

Its a fun place to visit that has been ruined by strict commiefornia policies, super high standard of living, and high taxes.
I visit SF multiple times a year and I love the train system to get around. But I have to watch my back in some areas given the rampant drug problem. Also made a habit on only eating at grocery stores because of how expensive the food is.
