A thread for alcoholics.

And I'll open right with a couple of questions:
1. Hungover. Do you get it, and what does it take for you to have it? For myself, I wasn't able to achieve any lasting effects nor from approaching my current metabolic limit with ~400ml of 40% abv in one go, nor when speeding the bloodstream delivery with beer/sparkling water.
2. Tolerance. How do you increase the intake? Common suggestions seem to be fatty foods and avoiding anything bubbly, but beyond that there is seem to be a limit to what one can stomach without vomiting and spreading it over time seems like cheating. Is increasing body mass helps in practice? Maybe there are some other ways?
>>
>>217708116
1. Only if I mix things especially with beer.
2. Just have gay sex.

Heeey. Glad to see /abv/ has another flag today. Wanted to post today but i was busy. Got myself some beers. Will try em later.
>Hungover
After a while it becomes so normal that you dont notice it nymore.
>Tolerance. How do you increase the intake?
Food in general.... Also avoid sugary drinks.

This should do the trick. Or just drink kerosene at this point.
>>
>>217709423
I think I would just throw it up unfortunately, but I appreciate the recommendation
>>
>>217708528
Yeah, I happen to be an OP, but I don't let circumstantial/proverbial ouija into my decision-making.

>>217708561
I'm not regular, but this thread is relevant to my interests. As for food, it does help but not to the degree I'm seeking, I want to be able to chug at least 0.5 of vodka at once and hold it. So far my practical limit is at 350-400ml, but anything beyond that within the same hour is a guaranteed rejection. I've been trying binge drinking, trying to get accustomed to intoxication beyond the capacity, drinking under varying conditions, including increased and delayed bloodstream delivery, but so far nothing save for medical antiemetics improves it much and thats plain cheating.
>>
>>217709480
Why do you want that? It's not a nice thing
Anyway you get there by drinking a little more everyday for a very long time
>>
>>217709474
Should have a "not for human consumption*" warning on the bottle desu.
>>217709480
>As for food, it does help but not to the degree I'm seeking
It helps but it wont turn you into Bukowski, you will just be able to drink marginally more.
>I want to be able to chug at least 0.5 of vodka at once and hold it.
I cant do that either lol, i can finish a bottle of vodka in like 8 hours. Very few people are capable of such a feat.
Genetics are honestly the biggest factor.
Anyway.... Why do you hate your liver so much? Just pay a homeless guy to punch you in the liver.

Todays haul,
I highly recomend the Salvator Doppelbock, and the whole König Ludwig lineup is really great aswell.
>>
>>217710372
Ma luat prin surprindere.
>>217710445
Nice pick today. From the beer store you mentioned previously?
Salvator is great beer yeah. Should read its history, its extremely interesting.
Basically brewed by a bunch of monks and drank for 40 days straight instead of food as they fasted. They called ot "liquid bread"
>>

Yes, they already know me and sometimes recommend new stuff. There's a bunch of expensive beer as well, British ales and craft beers. I need to get into them as well, but craft beers have usually disappointed me in the past.

Lol, they are literally me.
there is so much interesting history surrounding beer.
A couple of years ago, my friend and I would visit breweries and such. Man, I need to get into it again. it was really fun.
Last one i Visited was the "gutmann" brewery

Haha. Soon they will start reserving you the good stuff, love this places that appreciate loyal clients.
Craft beer is hit and miss. Some are incredible some are shit, only way to find out is to try them....
>there is so much interesting history surrounding beer.
Books upon books about it.... This holy liquid has been man's best companion for at least 5000 years.
>A couple of years ago, my friend and I would visit breweries and such.
Me too, i lived in Germany for a while.
>>
>>217712549
Lol nice, which area did u live?
I live in south germany south Hesse, it has great alcohol culture, Bavaria is close, and the french border aswell.
So wine beer and ofc apple wine is quite huge here
>>
>>217712549
Cu plăcere, feciorule.
>>
Almost home, il pick a beer and drink it in the park. I think number 3.
>>217712891
>south Hesse
Frankfurt? Been there a few times, mostly just passing through.
I lived in Nurnberg for a few years and in Munich for a short while.
>So wine beer and ofc apple wine is quite huge here

Opened the first beer from the pack. Bornem dubbel. Very interesting beer, malty taste, brown sugar, slightly herbal taste and unidentifiable spices. Pretty good beer.

~100km more south, in fact Frankfurt is the most northern place in germany i ever visited lol
>moseltal
Yea honestly need to go there once, and Tegernsee aswell which also has a really awesome brewery, planned to go next year.
Best places in my are for wine: is the City Eltville, the Region Bergstrase and the "german Weinstraße" which all are really close

I like the park at night. Its completely empty, feels like private property. Hard to get some comfy silence in my city otherwise....
I miss getting drunk in Bavarian forests than riding my bike home.
>most northern place in germany i ever visited lol
Wtf man. Go outside and visit places, you live in a beautiful country.
>Yea honestly need to go there once, and Tegernsee aswell which also has a really awesome brewery
Chimsee too, that whole alpine lake region is breathtaking, great beers made with the best water, delightful stuff

Once again thank you for this cozy thread. All I've got today is a rolling rock from the store but I ran into some unexpected money so Im gonna pick up some German beer and some Fernet branca. Or maybe some English beer, we'll see what they have
>>
>>217714056
Im glad that you like the thread ^_^
Dont forget to update us on what beer you picked from the store.
>English beer
Go for the German. Unless there is some really nice English beer that you like ofc.
I think il go to the car and pick one more bottle to drink in the park.
>>
>>217714362
Theres these two nitros I like a lot, Speckled Hen and Boddingtons. I do agree Britain as a whole doesnt hold a candle to the continental beers. I don't think it always was like that but I believe their local brewing got gutted over time

Opened a new one, on the park bench. Strong Belgian, 10% abv, with sausage sticks and a new bottle cap for my collection.

You get the best Euro beers in the US... Its rare to find those here.
>their local brewing got gutted over time
True. The average brit drinks mass produced foreign brands nowdays.

Got home. Got myself a shawarma to go with the new beer. Never had the uad version of this beer but the norml one is incredible so this should be even better.
>>
>>217708116
I drank half a glass of beer this year once and it made me sick to the stomach for a few hours and i couldnt sleep and i had a hangover the next day i will NEVER become an alcoholic
>>
>>217715819
Not with that attitude.
>>
>>217715819
A German thats allergic to beer. How unfortunate....
>>
Last beer put me into an almost vegetative state.
Incredible beer, taste of dried fruit, pear, caramel, toffee.
Gonna sleep now. Good night frens.
>>
>>217716005
I didnt want to disturb your thread. Seeing it just got me thinking. I got many cases of alcoholism in my family so while the fact that i cant stomach alcohol may suck for social occasions it also prevents me from "curing" my depression with booze like my uncle or my mother did
>>
>>217716371
Dormi liniștit.
>>
>>217716398
No biggie if you cant drink.... I also come from a long line of alcoholics but i followed in their footsteps.
Its fun for a while but im sure il pay for it later.
Anyway. You reminded me of this song.
