>is that a healthy tourism industry>RAGHHHHH IM LOSING MY MIND>YOU FUCKING GAJIN FUCKING DIE DIE DIE>RAGHHHHHHHHHHH
They think that but they don't say it because they are too cucked. Personally I think I could beat up an entire train car's worth of Japanese salarymen
>>217713089Shouldn't you have posted the Spanish flag?
>>217713289anybody could, even gigabetas from Monaco would be able to beat japanese salarycucks
>>217713089If they are serious about it, they could north korea maxx (place heavy restrictions on people visiting the country. >healthy>tourismpick one. Tourism is a low added value industry (only creates jobs in restaurants in hotels) and it jacks up the prices of housing for locals by perpetuating the short term rental market (airbnb).
>>217713328https://asia.nikkei.com/economy/tourism-surges-to-japan-s-no.-2-export-behind-carsIt's true that tourism is Japan's 2nd biggest export sector, but they still aren't as dependant on it as medshits.
>>217713399Aribnb should be banned then
>>217713399>only creates jobs in restaurants in hotels)Many tourists buy a lot of Japanese goods when they go to Japan, this helps Japanese businesses, and tourists exchanging foreign currencies for the Yen boosts it and makes imports cheaper for Japan.
Tourism is a fundamentally bad industry to invest in. It does not produce anything, is often an annoyance to the locals, and is volatile since it's dependent on foreigners' perception of your country. The one benefit it has is it can promote culture, but there are better alternatives.
>>217713465it drives up the prices for locals, it doesnt create jobs for college graduates and it does not make up for the price increases the way other industries do (Electronic design, high value manufacturing, healthcare, finance, etc.)
>>217713089I mean, I think Japan is autistic about foreigners but criticizing the tourism industry is absolutely fair because it does increase prices for locals and leads to genuine cultural conflict. This isn’t “oh, this white guy accidentally used the wrong hyper-specific honorific so now the NHK is going to make this national news” it more like “these assholes who treat people in foreign countries like museum attractions are making living in an area I spent my whole life in financially impossible.”
>>217713521tourism is amazing as it syphons money from foreign countries into your country
>>217714152>it does increase prices for localsthis is a problem only in very successful tourist spotsif you're in a lesser known location, tourism will only boost the local economy without increasing the pricesit's a win win
>>217714152But Japan is actually affordable because house prices do not inflate infinitely like elsewhere. In fact houses lose value with time.
>>217713089overtourism isn't healthy.
>>217713089Euros do the same shit, kek.
gee If only we didn't attract most annoying obnoxious ass kind people from all over the world
>>217716238you are who you attract
>>217713089The samurai spirit will possess Japan and you will all learn
To be fair to us, our country is currently experiencing the fastest growth in tourism worldwide.Looking at the data trends, you can see that wasn't the case 10 or 20 years agoand shit is not an unfounded reactionWe ain't ready for this shit
>>217716531This indicates societal collapse. Soon they will migrate as well.
>>217713089Based>>217713289>>217713337Try to do it then pussies, you only act tough on the internet.
>>217716124yeah but>should I get a degree or turn my house into a restaurant/hotel?When tourism is good the later makes more money while fucking the country's future.
I'd rather work at a copper mine than a beach resort honestly.
>>217714152Failure of economic reasoning. Japan would not be more productive without tourism (in fact unless it would mechanically lead to major pro-productivity policy changes which is unlikely it would be even less productive) so Japanese people would not be able to afford more. It would just require more active thought to make the connection between less tourism and more expensive imports than it does between more tourism and higher prices in specific neighborhoods
>>217718288Cause and effect reversed here. If Japan was more successful in general it would cost more to get someone to switch from another industry to tourism and prices for the same tourist facilities would have to go up to remain profitable in the face of more expensive labor
The funniest thing is that this was a problem brought by japan themselves, it didn't came out of nowhere neither was imposed upon them, for decades, specially in the last decade they were begging for tourists, now they dont want it lmao
>>217721088Covid killed the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, imagine investing trillions of yen over 7 yewrs into infrastructure and tourist services for a tourist boom that never came
