I didn't join when I was young because there was a good chance I'd be sent to Iraq or Afghanistan to be shot at in bullshit nonsense wars to make more $$$ for Lockheed and Raytheon.I haven't joined recently because I love my gf and don't want to deal with getting shipped off anywhere else for training or being stationed or whatever.I also know vets and they all tell me not to do. Basically say you'll make more money doing a civilian job and they don't come away from it with any benefits. I saw guys working at the post office who were military veterans. The forces try to advertise like everybody is going to get a cool cybersecurity job but in reality it's not helpful for most people and just wastes time
