Japanese seem to have a negative opinion on religious practices and are fairly nihilistic. Is that why their suicide rates are so high and their birthrates are so low? Any religious Japanese anons have had higher motivation to live and raise a family?

none of them are christian

I'm not either. I just find atheism and nihilism to be the most depressing worldviews anyone can have.
>>
>>217720276
Japanese suicide rates are the same as ours and childlessness for American women born after 1990 will likely be about the same as theirs too.

You can’t quantify East Asian religiousness because they will believe in ghost, Iching, Zodiac, etc. as a matter-of-fact and still check off “atheist/irreligious” on the census.

Why do so many Japanese do their rituals? Is it really just culture, same as high schoolers pledging the pledge of allegiance? No. They do it because in their minds they get something supernatural or paranatural from it.

Most religious people here are the boomers. Millennials and zoomers aren't very religious.

Japanese suicide rate is lower than American one.

Japanese people are religious.
Shintoism is so much a part of Japanese life that they don't even consider it religious.

Shinto shrines and Buddhism temples are everywhere, and people often go there to pray. Even Japanese Christians go to Shinto shrines to pray.

Not rare. Cults are a big problem there.

Does religion help with easing your conscience and allow you live your daily life? If not how isn't it helpful?

Grim. I guess even Indian girls don’t like the guys.

Yeah, that's just paganism.
>>
No such thing as religion in Japan. Only superstitions. The most "pious" people at best display cult behaviors.

In organic religions you can be an atheist and still be religious. Absolute faith is a middle eastern invention
>>
>>217721574
What exactly differentiate paganism and religion?
>>
>>217720276
Japanese culture and mindset is heavily influenced by Shintō-Buddhism. In that regard, all Japanese are religious
>Is that why their suicide rates are so high and their birthrates are so low?
This meme again. Japan's birth and suicide rates are nothing out of the ordinary when compared to other first world democratic countries
>>
>>217720306
Some of them are, but only a small amount
>>
>>217721864
Any religion can be referred to as "superstition" by those who want to degrade/demonize it
>>
>>217720276
You proved religious people have low IQ

When a Czech or a Swede say they are nonreligious, it means they don't believe in the supernatural at all. When a Japanese or Korean say they are nonreligious, it means they are not a member of a religious group. They'll still believe in ghosts, lucky charms, and see fortunetellers.

Maybe agnostic if you include pantheistic worldviews, but Atheism is strictly deterministic that there is no God or entity that maintains the universe and rejects any sort of metaphysical inquiries.

We don't make games about ghosts if we actually believe it lol

4chan sometimes makes me realize "christianity" Americans believe is not actual christianity Europeans believe today.

I don't believe dragons, unicorns, or zombies exist but it doesn't mean I won't make a game without them.

Paganism based itself off rituals and ceremony instead of actual beliefs. Only proper religion has their own tenets and creeds. In Japan and all of the pagan religions, none of this matters. What matters is you give something to spirit, and it rewards you in return. It makes no sense in 2025. So the neo-paganism is just a therapy. Asian people leave small offerings and little prayers not only because it's a part of their habit but also because they just feel good doing it. Even the traditional Siberian pagans wouldn't mind if someone ate their offering pancake after they placed it under a tree because they think they already fulfilled a daily task.
