Do Europeans hate their farmers for keeping they meat prices high?
>>
>>217727941
Doesn't the EU puts up a shitton regulations on them explicitly meant to hinder their productivity?
>>
>>217728006
Like a third of the EU budget goes to farming subsidies as well
>>
>>217727941
YES let's kill our agriculture so german car manufacturers can sell more cars in south america fuck off
>>
>>217728006
>Doesn't the EU puts up a shitton regulations on them
This is what confused me.
Put so many regulations and taxes because carbon footprint but import food from other country that doesn't have any of the regulation.
Wouldn't it be much more reasonable to be self-sufficient first then import what you need?
>>
>>217728190
Mercosur has met their regulation standards however
>>
>>217727896
No
>>217728188
This, god famn the german car industry needs to die already
>>
>>217728259
Because in times of crisis no one is gonna ship food to you
>>
>>217728347
We sent meat and meat products to Germany when all their neighbors ganged up on them in the 40s
>>
>>217728441
Zainichi britishers blocked it though
>>
I do, they receive massive subsidies, then they export 235.4 BILLION worth of food to the rest of the world.
That's out of 1.7 trillion, which means that 13% of all European produced food being exported.
That's how much of the value of our subsidies is handed out to foreigners.
And despite this expensive overproduction, food is more expensive than in Argentina or Brazil.

We're being ripped off to support lifestyle farmers, who have assets in the millions.
We could have food security while spending much less and we could have cheaper food too, if only we broke the farmer lobby.
>>
>>217728253
This is the part that confused me, why is it that EU can control the quality of oversea good better than domestic product? Shouldn't it be other way around?
I'm sure EU is a lot advance than where I am but transport large amount of food across the sea while keeping it flesh isn't simple task.

Euros are missing out on NZ beef. Open bobs, then open the market.
>>
>>217727896
its a double edged sword. essentially those farmers are living on tax-funded handouts but if they let their farming industries die out and be offshored and become dependent on food imports thats a massive vulnerability that will 100% be used against them
>>
>>217728691
we're a net exporter of food
we could afford to let the farming sector consolidate
especially if Ukraine joins since they have chernozem
>>
>>217728714
you might be but those belgians probably arent
>>
They are subsidised cry babies and can go fuck themselves. Allah willing if Ukraine joins the EU and the Mercosur passes every single farmer especially in westoid Europe will be out of work and die of poverty.
>>
>>217728691
We completely scrapped agricultural subsidies in the 80s and farming is still the backbone of our economy. European farmers need to quit bitching and git gud.
>>
all farmers in first world countries are massive welfare queens that simultaneously hate the government
>>
I haven't eaten non local food in my entire life
sucks to suck I guess
>>
>>217728733
I'm talking about the Union collectively.
Bulgaria isn't that prominent agriculture wise.
That said, you're probably right that a part of this is likely that country are trying to stay individually food secure.
>>
>>217728782
Ours voted vatniks pro-russian government in. No quarter with village retards wallowing in their cow shit all day.
>>
>>217728764
You live in the place isolated from other world which isn't a case in europe

Farming in France would instantly die if they allow uncontrollable import of agriculture from, for instance, Ukraine, that have better land and several times cheaper workforce
>>
>>217728142
ohh goo catch
>>
>>217728764
Different situation, Euro population density is much much higher making land more scarce and valuable. New Zealand is a ~5 million pop meme country with next to no developement.
>>
What you faggots don't realise is that we have the harshest norms out of any country on earth when it comes to both agriculture and livestock standards. It's absolutely normal that a farmer gets hand outs to offset the fact that he can't produce as much as Pablo who is allowed to pump his potatoes full of chemicals
>>
>>217727896
meat is bad though. they should go vegan
>>
>>217728843
Pablo will eat a pigs ass out to get rid of tapeworms if he can sell in EU
>>
farmers are going to be obsolete in near future, almost all food is carbon except things like salt and soon synthetic food machines working on carbon gas and electricity will be available for home use and 15-20 years from now it would be default option
>>
>>217728877
No he fucking won't. How can you even expect the EU to accurately check the quality of imported meat from a whole ass continent?
>>
>>217728918
Best you will get is compressed blocks of bugs like from snowpiercer.
>>
>>217728843
Pablo met the norms however

French farmers once set a truck of sheep on fire and burned them alive because of this sort of thing, the continental Europeans are savages
>>
>>217728950
If it's bad consumers won't buy it
>>217728918
Yes that's right around the corner just like fusion and quantum computing. 2 more trillion, trust the science.

Stfu Australia junior, you faggots have a whole island to grow shit on where nobody lives.
>>
>>217729023
Not a fair comparison because it's the information technology sector which growth does not translate to that of agriculture, biotech and biochem.
>>
>>217727896
I don't. I prefer farmers being a bit uppity and food prices a bit high to governments seizing all the farmland and being in control of all food production.
>>
>>217729066
Consumers buy what they get in the market packaged in the brands that are trusted.
Consumers consume via brand loyalty

Products that are unhealthy or chemical are not "bad tasting", or noticeably worse

America famously pumps all their shit full of slop and everyone eats it because it's cheap and tasty.

Europeans will eat goyslop at the same level as american food because their corporations will repackage it and sell it cheaper.
>>
>>217728843
as long as the imported meat complies with the same norms I don't see the issue

Subsidy queens
>>
Imagine how big French women could get with just a little bit of meat fat in their bodies
>>
>>217733317
We are literally the meat capital of Europe. We fucking love meat. We already produce a ton. Beef, pork, chicken, mutton, duck, even horses and snails we eat it all and we would even eat fellow humans if allowed to. We do not need more meat.
>>
>>217733476
You always need more meat
