Why people in our countries use boomer's nostalgia as an indicator of how good times used to be? Often using it as validation for whatever they believe society should be.

In my country, some individuals will claim that "actually X-style dictatorships were good because the foreignoid boomers who lived under it seem to have liked it", ignoring the fact that local boomers in my own country lived under a Y-style dictatorship and also seem to have liked it. If X says that Y is bad and vice versa then both cant be good.

People have to understand boomers in general just miss the time they were young and virile, used to drink, eat unhealthy food and have casual sex, they now correlate those youth pleasures with whoever was ruling the game back then because when you get old and grumpy all you care about is politics for some reason.

We need to stops listening to boomers in our countries and taking their accounts as valid anedotal evidence. Not everything they have to say is wisdom.

Pic related, old brazilian eletric showers.
