That rules out most of Europe including the nordics
Probably not. Norwegian people are generally polite but deep-down rather reactionary. Personally I believe so, that it's more about cultural expression than anything else.

Hundreds of millions of Americans have probably never thought about European identity in their lives, even once.But I feel confident that any American that has ever used the words “European blood” agrees with you that it is a mandatory prerequisite for European status.
