With heroin you can use other opiates to get on that are easier to kick. DHC is better than methadone but its' the same principle.Alcohol is the roughest but they get given benzos to ease the physical withdrawals.Physical withdrawals for heroin and alcohol are worse than benzos. But benzos take the longest and from what addicts have told me are mentally the worse. And for benzos there is nothing else to ease it except alcohol and opiates which are both addictive and no rehab will give out to ease it.

I've had a lot of fun traveling to be sure but it's not really a transformative experience if you aren't in the right state of mind for it.
