Is that Niagara Falls? If so then that’s the Canadian part. The American part doesn’t have this view.

Yeah, it's a disgrace. The actual city of Niagara Falls is easily one of the worst places in the entire state too, it's a shithole.

t. from Buffalel

It’s not a national park. It’s a state park, which have fewer restrictions.

I went to Buffalo to take the bar exam. I ate lots of wings and took an Uber to Niagara Falls, where I went on the boat, then won $600 on roulette at some Indian casino that was a ten minute walk away from the park.

I tried to get a cab, only to find out they don’t seem to exist in Buffalo. I had to take Ubers, which I hate. The Uber to the airport was some white-trash subhuman in a riced out Sentra with ten Black Ice Little Trees hanging from the rear view mirror that didn’t help his car smell not like shit. He also didn’t know how to get to the airport, something I would have previously thought unimaginable as a guy whose job it is to drive people around Buffalo.

Cab services in the US are only reliable in super dense cities where people actually live downtown. In second rate post-industrial cities like Buffalo people live out in the suburbs and drive downtown for work, then drive back home at the end of the day. Barely anyone actually lives in the city itself, so once the work day is over there's nothing to do there and by extension no need for a cab service.

When I was in Buffalo for college I took an uber back to my apartment from a bar. My driver ranted to me about how much he hates the Amish and when he pulled up to my building he locked the doors and ranted at me for another 15 minutes before I convinced him to let me go by saying how much I hated Amish people too.

Fucking Christ. Who knows of what these people are capable. I’m glad I’ve never had to come back to Buffalo. It sounds like a terrifying place at times. What did you rate him, out of curiosity?

I actually reported him to Uber because prior to the Amish rant he was telling me about how he likes to drive around the strip of town where all the bars are and pick up drunk college girls and convince them to flash their tits to him. He offered to pull over and show me pictures but I said I wasn't interested. That's why I let him rant about Amish people to me for 15 minutes, because I though the moment he stopped he was going to pull out his phone and try to show me his creepshot collection.
He was a mess, like genuinely a psychopath. He mentioned having a daughter and a wife he was divorced from at one point.

I’m glad you reported him. I can’t imagine the sort of brain that proceeds from picking someone up as part of a professional arms-length transaction, to offering to show the client pictures of women you took advantage of, to ending with a rant about the Amish. I can’t say I’ve had any experiences with the Amish, but I have a hard time imagining anything about any ethnic or religious group that would set me off ranting for 15 minutes to a complete stranger.

I got the vibe from him that he had no one else in his life to talk to and used being an Uber driver as a means to trap people in conversations with him.

I'm sick of paying for you to exist and don't care about the strategic reasons for it

I think they also had some sort of huge chemical disaster nearby.
