Of all the Protestant countries, is America the one who has the most proeminent "Catholic fetish"?

Not only because of how much Catholics appear in movies, series, songs or whatever, but I swear to God, every single news about the Catholic Church gets traction in America in a way it doesn't happen even here, and we were actually created by Catholics.

Sometimes I even forget that America is, in fact, a Protestant country.

Why is that?

Catholic my balls
>>
don't you have better things to think about like collecting coconuts or defending your goats from anacondas
>>
America is Plurality Catholic by now with all the Irish Italians and Southern Germans that came here plus New England English seem to be Catholic now for some reason.
>>
I think it had something to do with the Italians o algo

Why so sensitive?

I get it, but Catholics are like at most 20% of the country (and falling), right?
I find it rather strange that Americans who are not Catholic nor want to be Catholic care so much about what the Catholic Church has to say or believes or acts. It's fascinating in a way.

Was it always like that? If you grew up in the 90s or 2000s, was this fetish already there?

Catholicism is growing with all the Hispanics migrating here. Plus, what is “falling”? Something gradual that will only be significant in 50 years?
>>

>what is “falling”?
Catholics are actually losing members in America.

1. All the important media and cultural centers in this country are in heavily Catholic cities (New York, LA, Chicago, Boston, San Fran)

2. Many Protestants think the Church functions like a well-ran mafia and treat its scandals like an episode of their crime podcasts. And they get to feel superior that their church isn’t the one in the news.
>>
they do the same thing covering the royal family as much as our media does
think it's just supposed to be a 'good' news story instead of the negative ones
there isn't much sectarian divide anymore, only person I know who does it is my mom and she's old

Your first point is actually great.
But about the second one, it's not just the scandals that take traction. The good or neutral news about the Church a lot of times go viral as well. That was makes this phenomenom interesting for an outsider like me.

eat shit banana picker if your country was worth any attention you'd get tired of retarded baiting thirdies making fifty threads, all of them completely braindead, about it every single day

When 1/5 of the population follows one religion, it’s bound to be brought up. But you’re also choosing to listen to Americans who have a vested interest in this. I have Protestant co-workers who didn’t even know that we got a new Pope, an American one at that. I don’t even think they knew Francis died.

America is a melting pot of different people's. On the one hand there's the descendants of Englishmen and Germans who are protestant. On the other hand there's the Irish-American and Italian-American communities who are catholic

The head of ICE is a Catholic. As are the Supreme Court justices that are allowing Trump to go forward with his deportations.
>>
>>217772794
all because of charity organization though

trump will make boston wasp again
>>
>>217772745
But it seems even non Catholics there care too much about the Church
>>
>>217774295
They're culturally Christian after all
>>
>>217774655
But that doesn't happen in Bongland, at least from what I can get about your newspapers. Britishers don't even think about the Catholic Church, Americans on the other hand...
>>
>>217775292
literally no americans even think about catholicism. you must consume too much tradcath xitters or nick fuentes
>>
It's demographic replacement, but with Ellis Islanders and Hispanics.
>>
>>217775402
I'm talking about normal, mainstream news. I'm not a chud.
>>
>>217775564
normal americans and even non-catholic americans dont even know american pope. evangelism movement is still biggest in america yet many politicians want their votings
>>
>>217775618
american christmas is even more protestant than catholic. you're just too much consuming tradcath latinxs and irish larping as wasp on xitter
>>
>>217772102
40% of americans are mexican, and growing
its over
>>
>>217772272
America was founded by Protestants who thought other Protestants weren't Protestant enough.
>>
>>217775641
Already told you, I don't consume right wing media.
