does this happen in your country?
>>217784869Total farmer death in my country
>>217784869You are a fucking retard, imagine simping this hard for your German bureaucratic overlords, as a POLE
>>217784869Yeah all the farmers went to Brussels to chimp out over a trade deal that would lower food prices, create new markets for high value European industry, and reduce reliance on US/China, because lower food prices would hurt their profit marginsAlso LMAO at farmers saying that the Mercosur deal would hurt the Amazon rainforest when literally every single forest in my entire country was cleared for farms.
>>217785120The "German bureaucrat overlords" are taking your tax money and giving it to farmers while actively working to keep the price of your food from falling. The days they feel like fucking you over a little less, the farmers revolt and you side with the farmers.
Mostly our farmers are industrialized up to the tits, not as bad as the US midwest tier superfarms but pretty bad. They existed on subsidies because supermarkets and public demand created food so cheap that it's not actually profitable to farm at scale due to the costs of it vs the return from setting ultra low value food. The regen ag thing is growing and correctly identified that there needs to be a total reset in food distribution and pricing which allows farmers to produce good quality food and for it to be profitable to them, but there's a lot of resistance to it.
>>217785787I mean it is a bit unfair to European farmers having to compete with south American farmers who don't have to follow EU laws giving them a artificial cost advantage
>>217784869>>217784907>guys, socialism will be totally cool this time, I swear!
>>217784869Another retard who wants to starve because there's no domestic food production and trade was shut off.
You can't tax the farmers outside the country, tariffs should be high enough to make up for it.
>>217785912It sure will.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_communism
What the fuck is a farmer?
>>217784869Most independent farmers here are more likely to hire illegals and have shittier working conditions than industrial farms because they can’t compete.
>>217786071Yeah economies of scale are big in farming. Consolidation and mergers are inevitable in a free market.
>>217785853All food imports to the EU have to follow the same standards as food produced in the EUAlso EU farmers are subsidisied by the government, is that "fair?"
>>217784869Farmers are some of the likeliest people to praise their own industriousness and self-reliance, yet are welfare whores who would be run out of business without government subsidies and favourable policies.
>>217784869>wine>doesn't need protectionism to be profitable The EU literally has a list of countries that are allowed to make wine
>>217786178You would also run out of life the moment there's any trouble with your food imports if they didn't exist.
>>217786137>All food imports to the EU have to follow the same standards as food produced in the EUNo they don't. The food has to be of the same food safety standard but the environmental, animal cruelty, and other regulations isn't the same leading to a unfair advantage.
>>217786071What would be the point of being independent if your entire farming industry is subsidized?
>if I stopped working you fucking chuds would all starve and that's why the government needs to cover 50% of my costs, let me ignore labour laws at will, and institute a price fixing cartel to make even more moneytotal farmoid death
Farmers in my country vote for Trump to dunk on the cityoids and then seethe at us civilized peoples and blame Democrats when Trump takes away all their subsidies and gives billions of dollars to Argentina so they can undercut US farmersFell for it again award ig
>>217784869>Can't survive if they have to compete with poorer countriesThat applies to literally everyone in any profession, not just farmers. Are you dense?
>>217787311Can't wait for Zimbabwean EUV machines to outcompete ASML
>>217784869>protectionism badAre you shilling for Mercosur or something? Enjoy your roided slop bypassing EU's quality standards while European agriculture collapses and our economy gets poorer, you utter retard.
>>217787353You think that won't happen?Give the chinese a few decades to build factories in Africa and yeah, eventually mgbewes will be the new jeets, replacing everyone despite their shit quality of work simply because they'll work for much less. CEOs WILL cut the costs the line WILL go up.
>>217787625The more automation and AI advance the less labor costs matter.
>>217784869>Please don't let people buy cheap products Aaaaaand now there's metal shavings in the flour and the meat was raised on a corn syrup IV tap and was diseased in multiple different ways at slaughter. Splendid!
>>217787777The best one>you are now dependent on various kinds of thirdoids for your food production
>>217786137>All food imports to the EU have to follow the same standards as food produced in the EUno they don'tthat's why ukraine flooded us with cheap grain and poultry in 2022-2023 to the point we had to shut down borderscoutnries outside of EU don't have to worry about shit like Green regulations or CO2 emissions that's why their food is cheaper
>>217787777dont bother, redditors are retarded and dont understand second order effects
Welfare leeches like farmers need to be killed. All small towns and villages need to be raised to the ground NKVD style because those cow shit sniffing yokels bring the hole continent down.TOTALFARMER DEATH
>>217784869Yes, they're all parasites that grow soybeans and then throw a tantrum when the guy who they voted for antagonizes their main buyer. I feel no remorse for these retards.
>>217786014You literally can, that's what tariffs and bureaucratic fees are for.
