2. Kerala/Malalayi
3. North East
4. Bengali (can sound cute)
5. Rajasthani

Worst
1. Telugu (grating and abrasive)
2. Delhi-NCR (holy fuck shut up)

Only if they're wealthy and were born in the 90s or later

The most abrasive accent, in my opinion, IS a south indian one, the telugu speakers, it's where the saaar comes from (northerners say it too).
But at the same time the tamil urban (also south) accent sounds smooth and flawless.

Wait what do you mean remotely? You e-dating some whore from omegle o algo?

She spoke mayalayam iirc. The other guys were from delhi and mumbai and they sounded like stereotypical indians.

Anecdotally, when I was travelling through chennai; it shocked me how pleasant the way some random shopkeepers, even like juice sellers, spoke english.
By look i couldn't tell the telugu natives from the tamil people apart. But when they spoke, you'd just know.

Malayali people have an interesting way of stressing certain words.
like "without" comes out as "wee-da-out-tt",
hurting as "her-ting-ga".

And you how Italians do that thing with their hands while they're enunciating; malayis get VERY expressive with their face. Which looks charming and cute.
Truly the jewel of the south.

How are accents from Bangalore? I used to know a girl whose family was from there but she just sounded American.

Benguluru is an urban metropolitan with all kinds of northerners doing tech jobs, and implicit english culture is imposed.
But the locals are just Kannadigas (which still has a lot of variation in accent).
The distinct tone is an articulation like tulugus do, like accept is "ehhkcept", swim is "sweem". A fairly annoying accent, but not the worst thing.

The upper educated families have a more western shifted one, which is what your girl had. Kinda like the teenagers in Delhi-NCR speak, which is a shallow affectation of american pronunciation and slang, but the hinglish undertones make it absurdly annoying.
