does your country use nuclear energy? or is your country retarded?
>>
retarded
>>
Bravo, Japan.
>>
>>217818437
Retarded
>>217818477
Doesn't Canada own the biggest Nuclear Power plant or something like that?
>>
i think we're getting some of green stuff
>>
There are some but we're also retarded about it. Nobody wants one near their community, and instead of building them along with the rise of data centers we are instead arguing over decomissioning some.
>>
Good job japan. Im happy for you though i hate you
>>
>>217818611
They are safe to live by, how retarded are people
>>
>>217818611
The western world is just a collection of a handful of monopolies working hand-in-dick to raise the price of everything for the average person.
>>
We have some, but I don't think they are really needed.
>>
boomers and/or those in the pocket of big oil have irreparably damaged nuclear energy as a concept and it won't be until we are long dead that people might finally smarten up and embrace it fully.
>>
>>217818671
But 'muh chernobyl', and 'muh fukushima'!
>>217818689
Does seem to be that way at times.
>>
>>217818521
It's a big country
Ontario has a lot of of nuclear plants and we are building more but most other provinces don't.
>>
>>217818770
And meanwhile too people are okay with toxic chemical plants being put up that dump shit in local waterways because the dumbass local government told them they could.
>>
>>217818771
BC, Alberta, and Sask all have their own sources of energy that are also the foundation of their economies. Manitoba I don't know about. Everywhere east of Quebec... don't see the demand.
>>
i find it so funny how normies and boomers will be “uncomfortable” living 100 miles away from a nuclear plant despite the fact that they get untested COVID vaccines, drink tap water, smoke cigarettes, eat mcdonalds, and don’t care about shit like microplastics. never mind the fact that carbon-based energy causes far more damage to both immediate and faraway surroundings

meanwhile they’ll say like like
>muh three mile island
oh yeah, the worst nuclear reactor accident in the whole of North America, where nobody died, nobody got radiation poisoning, and no freak cancers were recorded as a result? wow. scary

no
yes
>>
>>217819688
Because boomers are all deranged from lead poisoning their brains. They can't think properly.
>>
>>217819873
>>217819688
No, the reason is active corporate propaganda from the oil sector, both foreign (arabs) and domestic. You would do well to remember that our society is post-truth and what dictates reality is your corporation's ability to get more bots pushing a narrative than the competition does.

Same shitheads do just murdered an MIT nuclear physicist. The reason they don't want nuclear power in our countries is because they would make less money and they would have less control over society, and they'll resort to murder to gatekeep it as long as they can, all the while convincing boomers and the weak minded through sheer volume that Nuclear energy is dangerous and unprofitable and too expensive because x/y.
>>
>>217820148
>remember that our society is post-truth and what dictates reality is your corporation's ability to get more bots pushing a narrative than the competition does.
this is indeed an important thing to be aware of desu
>>
>>217818437
So Japan is going all in on deindustrialization and is taking cues from France now. Nuclear is fine, but it's only really good for electricity.
>>
>>217818437
Yes.
We are still regarded to not go for it even harder though.
>>
>>217820937
not saying nuclear is le bad, but what would be the benefit to go even more into it besides bragging about it on the internet? I'm pretty sure your 70%(?) is easily enough and renewables are cheaper and far quicker to build.

>>217818437
>>217818484
Nuclear is the way to go. solar is a chinese scam, that's why only chinamen make solar panels. the global warming commies don't want cheap energy. they want to put everyone in poverty
>>
>>217818770
I'm pretty sure all of one person died from radiation due to Fukushima. like a few dozen died from the hydrogen tanks exploding but that wasn't radiation related that was due to the tanks over heating from the earthquake/tsunami damage and all the other deaths were caused by the eathquake and tsunami
>>
>>217820243
>power plant is only good for power
>>
>>217821032
>renewables are cheaper and far quicker to build.
solar and wind are fucking garbage that don't work. 100% of solar panels are made in china. it's a chinese scam
>>
>>217818437
We used to be retarded, but thankfully the coalburners and oilfags are losing movement, and they're being replaced by more reliable methods of energy (nuclear, wind and solar).
>>
>>217821649
they do work and are the most economical form of energy production which is why they're built en masse all around the globe unless there's active pushback against them. And yeah, lots of them are built in china since we retardedly sold off our solar tech there in the 2000s, but you can get panels from outside china too.
>>217821675
>nuclear, wind and solar
amen, this is it

I'm not saying nuclear doesn't have its place besides renewables btw before some fucktard starts seething again
>>
>>217821675
aren't chuds in america very anti-solar/wind though?
>>
>>217821769
yes, however Texas and Iowa, two red states are the ones who have invested the most into wind and solar. Even with the oilfags in the whitehouse the renewable boom will continue even without their tax credits.
>>
>>217821769
No you just only hear about them through delusional Marxists bitching about them based on strawmen loosely based on stuff from the 1960s
Guess where they're putting up windmills all over?
Hint it rhymes with plate wanes

they're only built when the government is pushing commie shit. germany replaced most of their power plants with coal, not solar or wind, because coal works and solar and wind don't.
> but you can get panels from outside china too.
you can't. 100% of all solar panels are made in china
>>
>>217821184
What about the Norway question? There's almost no drawback to nuclear apart from needing to import uranium, but after the purchase is settled it pays for itself in electricity generation. While that's great if someone has a heavy large-scale manufacturing base you'd still need oil/coal because you can't run heavy industry on batteries alone. Norway has the lion's share of Europe's oil and you really can't do any big development projects without it because of limitations on how much energy a battery can store.

based
>>
>>217821769
cause it's chinese garbage that doesn't work
>>217821842
like 75% of chinese power generation (might even be more than that) is gas and coal
China doesn't even use chinese solar panels
>>
>>217821751
Solar isn't economical at all, or green. In fact, solar is in direct competition with photosynthesizing plants (i.e. forests) for sunlight. It can only really work as a means of supplementing your home's power when it's on your roof, or in space where there are no other options.

yes, we just dont produce it ourself. our cheap hydropower takes the peaks of northern europes power production then we buy nuclear power back in times of low demand.
it actually makes sense on a large scale but it makes for more expensive power here.
>>
>>217821625
Any industrial process requiring fuel or high amounts of heat can't run on electricity alone. The term energy doesn't apply to electricity alone, if electricity could be applied to everything then there would be no need for natural resources at all since you can just run everything on hydro, nuclear, or solar. Every single country produces more electricity than it can use because the bottleneck for electricity isn't generating it, it's storage.

stop using a vpn homo. solar is garbage and doesn't work. that's why china uses gas and coal
>maybe it'd be even lower if coalburners and oilfags didn't sabotage any bit of solar panel manufacturing in the country.
it's because the chinese government uses subsidies to sell solar panels for less than they cost to make in a deliberate act of economic terrorism called dumping to kill domestic industries

my country is retarded, we should be 100% nuclear power by now from Nixon's plan, but greens and libtards ruined it like they ruin everything
>>
>>217822419
you dont understand the place solar and wind have in the grand scheme of power production. nuclear/gas/coal likes to run on a steady load and takes forever to ramp up/down, hydro is kinda unstable if used directly from a river but can be dammed and then its highly controllable, stable and can respond in minutes to changes in the grid, until the dam is empty....
what solar and wind does is randomly take some of the load from hydropower saving water for later. the key here is randomly, if you have a grid thats purely slow reaction power production a few hours of wind does nothing you dont have time to ramp down the big powerplants until you have to fire them up again. if you got a certain percentage of hydro you can and during a season it will make a difference.
>>
the competency crisis will render all nuclear plants useless

>>
>>217821769
i only start going on an anti-solar/wind rant when i hear people argue they are enough to replace fossil fuels. they absolutely are not and never will be until we start building dyson spheres, so the best option would be building up a largely nuclear-dominated energy with solar, hydroelectric, and wind when needed/when unfeasible for nuclear to provide it
