americans don't go to malls anymore despite them inventing them
>>
They aren’t drivable so they don’t bother going
>>
>>217829253
Both of the malls around me are busy, maybe that's because there was a third that already died.
>>
>>217829253

Last time I was at the mall I was IDed and asked to wear a wristband because apparently I was there after their curfew for teenagers. I guess they had been having problems with feral “urban” youth.
The wristband was so that younger adults didn’t need to get IDed by other security.
I refused the wristband and was told I would probably get IDed again, which I was soon after, then I got pissed and just left.
That was like 7 years ago, only have been back for a company lunch at one of the restaurants.
And what’s the point anyway? All to look at shit I can buy online for cheaper?

Fancy malls still have people, but the old department store malls are largely emptied out because people realized they're fucking depressing. Also millennials stayed in the cities more since there's no more jobs in the 'burbs, therefore there are very few new families in most of suburbia. In the town where I grew up in the mid-2000s-2010s, I remember they were starting work on an addition to my elementary school when I graduated. Now the elementary school is 75% empty in every single grade's hallway, it's incredibly grim. What used to be a bustling residential affluent suburban neighborhood rapidly aged into Gen X late career and quasi-retirees in overly big homes hosting their gen Z kids for the holidays when those kids come back from their NYC, LA, SF, Chicago, Dallas, (insert other big city here) young professional jobs/college

My thirdie brain can't comprehend there's an entire generation of Americans that never bought anything from a physical store
>>
I don't like crowds or teenagers

The mall I went to as a kid was pretty nice. I would guess it was about 85% white. I went there about 5 days ago and it was truly depressing. If I had to guess it was like 30% white at most, at about 1/3rd the traffic I remember. Insane amount of squat little Aztec goblins, and mutts from god knows what corner of the globe speaking a foreign languages. The area is still like 65% white too.

We’re all just on the same path as South Africa or Brazil. There are now more gated neighborhoods. White kids going to private schools. All the fast food jobs are now Guatemalans. We fled the cities in the 50s. The walled house is the logical endpoint.

Why do American malls look so barebones like that? As though they're still under construction or something. Compare that to one of ours.
>>
>>217829515
Because they were constructed in the 80s.
>>
>>217829253
I go to malls. There is a surprising amount of alt sluts at malls.
>>

Was this Del Amo mall in LA?
>>
>>217829493
In California the suburbs have a lot of Mexicans now. They are so far, thankfully only the type that can actually afford nice homes but who knows what will come next. Shockingly few Indians though
>>
>>217829253
There's nothing there worth buying anymore.
>clothing store
Caters mostly to women, who shop online.
>glasses store
Useless, only sells hipster birth control glasses
>movie theater
Nothing to watch
>electronics store
No longer exists
>book store
Either no longer exists, or only sells porn for women
>>217829515
"Malls" are just rental space for commercial entities. If nobody is renting, then there's not enough money to make it look nice, which drives away businesses in a vicious cycle.
>>
>muh malls
I am a shopping street chad myself

We have malls from that time but they're constantly getting renovated. This one opened in 1982, still going strong with several major overhauls - both internal and external.
>>
Mall-bragging is a thirdie trait
>>
>>217829639
I bet you say that about healthcare too.
>>
boomers have all of the money

I can afford to buy 1 nice thing in the year and I'll just get it delivered so I don't have to deal with going through all of the steps to get it from the anti-nigger protections

I did used to like going in malls as a kid but it's pointless if you don't have money to spend

>bro goes to a mall at 10 AM on a Tuesday morning
To be fair though, a mall is really just an expensive airport concourse without any airplanes. It's pointless now, especially with e-commerce where you can buy exactly what you want without the constant threat of catching stray bullets in the food court.

1, amazon and online shopping made it obsolete
2. teenagers and you-know-whos ruined them

All the shops I liked at my local mall have been gone for years.

Everyone has online shopping, they still go out to the mall because they're convenient points of congregation for community, dining out, atmosphere and browsing goods in person.
>>
>>217829928
i dont think thailand has amazon prime and your country is known for the night life
apples and oranges my guy
>>
America has a fuckton of malls, its only natural that excess malls are dying and the ones that are still thriving survived

It lends credence to America's excellent logistics from online retailers, you don't need to go to a mall to buy stuff you can online

This part of the world has its own brands, from Shopee to Lazada to Aliexpress and everything in between. Everyone here shops online, including order food delivery, and still they go out. Not just at night but during the day for lunch and so on.
>>
>>217829274
Guys guys. What if Yanks design a DRIVE THROUGH mall. You drive onto a conveyer belt and it goes through every store in the mall. If you want to buy something, you roll down the window and shout to the Indians to get it for you. This will eliminate shoplifting as well. Since the cars are on the conveyer belt, they're a captive audience, so you can blast advertisements at them too.
>>
>>217830089
Why do Americans think Amazon Prime is something special? That's the normal way.
In Asia I've had same hour delivery, at 2 in the night.
>>
>>217829928
>congregation for community
Americans hate this.
We only tolerate it if drugs are involved to take the edge off.
>>
>>217832421
As in xanax? Or... meth.

You're going to tell me it depends right? Like meth is for flyover trailer trash and yuppies do coke etc
>>
>>217832543
Meth and coke don't take the edge off. They give you an edge.
Xanax, whatever opioids aren't tainted with fent to kill you, a couple blunts or a THC vape, even just beer, something is necessary to mellow everyone out.

I had the best weed recently from my local vendor. They said it was good for getting a good night's snooze but that shit was making me see like spiraling galaxies. I'm talking neon spirographs breh. Trying not to oversell but suffice to say... it was a good trip. Would bong again.

finally someone understanding modern american needs
>>

Too fat to walk through them. We'd rather pay 70% more and have everything delivered.

Thirdies live in tropical paradises that only have good times ahead of them. That is why you build nice things- societal optimism.
>>
>>217829253
They have strip malls now
Get with the times unc
