It did a better job of making an abstract concept like the hyperreal visually understandable than even movies that name drop Baudrillard like The Matrix. Still relevant today imo.Best in terms of philosophical content American Psycho is a dumb spectacle on the surface but it's a good parody of the Zen style yuppie culture of the late 80s/90s. When you notice things like in the business card scene everyone has the same job title or how they constantly forget each other's names and have completely superficial relationships that revolve around pop culture and news.
