>>217854756I don't like dubs for tonal reasons because the actors aren't working with the director in any immediate way so they come off as stilted. The purity or 'cultural' angle is retarded I agree, it either reads as a tacit admission that the shows have no narrative/artistic merit or watching in the original language serves as some bizarre cult fetish as if the language is something more than its meaning. If someone wrote a series entirely in Morse code then expected everyone to read it untranslated for the cultural experience the viewer would spend more time engaging with the language than the work.
