NYC is a mind-blowing city for the level of wealth and nice international restaurants and cultures, you really can get a taste of every single corner of earth in places like Queens. London felt more distinctly British to me, still very international but the architecture is older and more imperial-feeling. You get the sense that you are at the beating heart of a Belle Epoque empire rather than the world empire of today. People also dress way more in line with their ethnicity in London than in New York even if they've lived decades there. I saw Chinese people in Hanfu, Indians in saris and kurtas, Eastern Europeans in head to toe Adidas, etc.

The only scenario where I'd want Manhattan over north London would be if I had a nine figure net worth and could afford the nice skyscrapers and all of the nice things to do around the city. If I was worth "only" 10m then NYC would not be worth it.

London, since one can catch a train to the best city in the world, Derby.
>>

you're not wrong but there's also fuck-all to do the further out from the city you go, which feels like it defeats the purpose of living in NYC. my employer has an office in soho that i've been to a few times and whenever i take the A train out shit just looks grim if you go more than a mile or two into long island.
same money concerns still mostly apply, if you want a decent place in west brooklyn with the rest of the white people and asians then you're looking at $1m minimum for a 1 bed/1 bath with a chunky HOA fee every month, or $3m if you want the whole building. if you're renting, not remotely worth it unless you have no other options (work in showbusiness, finance, etc).

London has better parks, nicer architecture, a better skyline, better public transportation, more history. And most museums in London are free.

The Alpha++ (Alpha-Plus-Plus) category in the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) network identifies the most globally integrated cities, with London and New York consistently holding this top rank due to their unmatched influence in advanced producer services like finance and law
>>
>>217858285
London is much better in most regards really, though of course that is solely from the perspective of a tourist.

There are nice places in West Brooklyn that don't cost THAT much for a 1bd/1ba but I will grant you the housing market is inflated by kids with wealthy parents paying for their rent and everything else. Also Flushing, Bushwick, Astoria, Jackson Heights etc. all have plenty of Indians, MENA, and Asians and are all safe with interesting things to see, do, and eat. I'm visiting NYC in a month and plan to do at least a day in the Flushing Chinatown alone
>>
NYC because it is the quintessential American city.
>>

whats so great about derby

NYC because i would rather be surrounded by Dominicans than Indians
>>

Just live in North Jersey or the Hudson Valley. Cheaper than Brooklyn, has beautiful nature, and closer to other major cities like Boston.
>>
>>217858285
NYC is more gangster so it suits a badass mafioso motherfucker such as myself better
>>
>>217858285
I’ve lived in both for years. They’re about the same except food in NYC is better. London housing is a lot better and cheaper. That’s about it.
>>
>>217858285
Both shitholes, but I'd rather go to Jew York than anywhere Muslim Kingdom.
>>
>>217860860
Even in terms of work you'd say both are similar?
>>
Lived in both and I have to say London
