Almost lost access to all my data when I fumbled access permissions setting up the shares for future users, but everything is working fine now.Tailscale for VPN and tunneling (in the future to change to wireguard and a VPS), pi-hole for blocking ads and other pesky stuff, jellyfin for streaming media, TrueNAS as the storage OS, qbittorrent with some cut automations for “legally” acquiring stuff and a bunch of services and scripts for managing the hardware and making proper backups of everything plus the system itself.The permissions are also all set, and now I have two big user groups, “core” and “external”. Core users have access to the whole file system. External users can only access media (read only) and their own personal folders (read and write access). Pretty happy with it.Still missing the gayming bits. I did test an instance of ps2 at the cagie (streaming to my phone), but the latency could be better. Still a good proof of concept.
