There's some action, character introductions, and that's about it. I personally can't stand the CGI (though that's just me—I dislike most CGI in anime). The only thing that actually hooked me is the main character's backstory: SPOILER AHEADhe hates goddesses because he killed one in the past, which got him branded a criminal. I'm curious to see that explored more. SPOILER ENDOtherwise, it feels like your average fantasy fighting anime. The title makes sense once you learn that "heroes" are actually condemned criminals forced into endless military service—they get resurrected in new bodies every time they die, so "slave soldiers" would've been just as accurate. Based on episode 1 alone, nothing else really stands out.
