Another item for my collection, 1957 East German Medal for Fighters Against Fascism 1933-45 (Medaille für Kämpfer gegen den Faschismus). The recipient was a German who spent the war years in the USSR working for the NKFD.Do you have any collections like such as in your country? Could be militaria, miniatures, cards, games, toys or any other hobbies, share photos if you wish.
>>218224121The medal itself. It's Ernst Thaelmann and Rudolf Breitscheid, so KPD and SPD represented.
yeah but have you ever been to the ddr?
>>218224345It's so good I actually bought DDR5.
I find it hilarious that you flip between posting cool autistic historical keepsakes and straight up ass photos of valery
>>218224121I cought a bug of collecting stuff from our Communist times. Some medals are still cheap. One is for Polish red cross and the other is for "Accomplishments in the firld of Building materials industry"
>>218224777I hate my phone
>>218224777I have a couple Polish items. Here Order Zasługi PRL, given to an East German Generaloberst.Probably a little money to be made for someone to resell in the West. It's very difficult finding Polish stuff and what is available is often price inflated. Last few months I've been trying to get Odznaka Braterstwa Broni but the only options are a Hungarian trying to charge US$40+US$20 shipping for it on eBay, or a German charging 30 Euro+shipping.
>>218225641A participant's medallion for the large Warsaw Pact exercise Shield 1976, in Poland that year.Somewhere around also a Medal 10th anniversary of Polish PR/ Medal 10-lecia Polski Ludowej. Been meaning to get the 30th and 40th but again they're like US$40+shipping when I know they're more like 80 ZLN on local sites.
>>218224800It's very funny to me that Poland kept the heraldic eagle for all this stuff but just took away the crown. Czechoslovakia did something similar with their lion.Germans completely abandoned the Eagle.Nice cross too.
>>218225822Mostly because Communists here were always on a shaky ground. And they wanted to present themselfs as Polish. So they kept prewar eagle but without a crown. (They even used diffrent Crownless eagle which had a history here. As republican symbol)
