A while back some chavs came up to me when I was down and basically talked me out of killing myself. Weird pattern in my life is when I hit rock bottom, a random stranger shows up and it's always a chav dude. They don't judge or scream "stop crying you stupid miserable bitch, get on with it", just ask if I'm okay and actually listen. Why are they like this? I mean chav in a good way, scally, charva, townie, whatever. Is there something about that subculture that makes them like that? They're the only people I feel comfortable opening up to besides therapists and these chavs were strangers who invited me into an alleyway (my friends were like "wtf were you thinking being a woman and following strange men into an alleyway"). I bottle things up otherwise. Sometimes I wish the men who saved me were still hanging outside that shop so I could talk to them again when I'm low.

I did for a long time after this (which was years ago) but now? Not really. Family issues, ongoing harassment from a neighbour, health issues, death of my uncle, family members not well, loneliness, I wish those two men were still there. They told me they always hang out there if I needed to chat, but I guess they were technically loitering and perhaps they got a warning.

Why not? Are Anglos going to punish others for being cruel to them? How?

I'm sorry about the troubles you're going through, try to find a support network of people in your town you can talk to or socialise with, such as at a community centre or a library, or an activities' club for example.

It's okay. And I'll try and do that.

Well they did spend a lot of effort talking to me. They spent over half an hour talking to me.

half an hour is nothing mate and tbf u shouldn't be talking to strangers about ur problems cos ur exposing urself totally to being taken advantage of, nothing attracts sharks more than blood and if ur vulnerable ur essentially bleeding

Poorer people usually adhere to more traditional gender norms, while wealthier neighborhoods promote gender equality and likely view chivalrous norms as sexist.
They were probably softer on you than they would have been with a guy, though they probably also would have tried helping a guy out under a masculine perspective, probably trying to appeal to reaching one's potential as a man, that kind of stuff.

Could have been an angel. They come in the shape of lower class people quite often for some reason.
