Why is the Anglosphere so connected but the Hispanosphere isn't?Anglos treat each other like cousins and know a lot about each other, while Hispanics know nothing of each other and sometimes even detest one anotherEnglish people are close to their former colonies while Spanish people see them as completely alienThere is a strong sense of an Anglosphere but absolutely no sense of a Hispanosphere. Why is that?
Latinx people are racially and culturally alien to me.
>>218242917then why zapatero created the socialism plan for modern times?
>>218242895Why aren't you connected to Indians and Africans? answer this and you'll get your answer
>>218242895that's just untrue
>>218242979it is true that the anglosphere is much more connected to each other than the hispanosphere though, and even then you don't see anglos using eachother's slang like hispanics do for example
>>218242895How you feel about FBAs and Jamaicans is how Spaniards feel about Latin Americans.
>>218242978>>218243103This is retarded, French and English never became anything other than a prestige language in English and French colonies, whereas Latinos are SFL and the countries are middle income, while former English colonies are low income fair but Spanish youtubers visit latin america all the time and they have many followers from latin america. You guys are talking about a culture you do not understand.https://youtu.be/kiIfzs9z0hQ?si=BZzjLxlNJZDp7DBKI bet neither of you speaks Spanish proficiently.
>>218243252Uh anon? Black Americans and Jamaicans are EFLs...
>>218242895I wouldn't say that, despite basically building a list of contacts and touring since my late teens, I 'know' the fine details of England, Australia, New Zealand, or even the US, despite being beaten over the head with American media all day every day.I've definitely made more friends than enemies on the road, and aside from one temporary issue causing me/us some problems this year, and some easily swayed people falling in line to cast their stones, I'd say that almost everyone I've met in the Anglosphere has been somewhat welcoming if not suspiciously friendly - even in Australia despite the constant sarcasm... then again, the same's held true for most of Europe, Japan, and South America.Sorry, I thought I had something, but apparently I don't. No idea. Probably has a lot to do with how we went about getting our independence from the mothership.
>>218242895Spain treated its colonies differently, which led to some colonies being much "better" than others, creating a racial and cultural gap. Also creating Spaniards and criollos hungry of power, creating wars between the colonies.Having said that, even if I don't consider latam countries my "cousins", I still feel much closer to them, than to Spain or any other country overseas.
>>218243252>French and English never became anything other than a prestige language in English and French coloniesEnglish is the oanguage of education and administration in a lot of former British colonies,
>>218242895Hispanosphere happened a long time ago. Also the hispansophere mated with the natives whereas Anglos segregated
>>218243355only like 50% of people in these colonies speaks the language fluently, sometimes less and this is even more the case in French colonies, because Frenchmen and Englishmen only went to Africa to exploit their resources. There are more white countries in latin america and mestizo countries and everyone speaks spanish proficiently, comparing us with the relationship between India and England is ridiculous.Mexico is definitely brown i accept that, but the Frog from like 9 comments ago is retarded and he doesnt know what he is talking about

>>218243427... Commanda's the closest thing to a native name for miles around me. Might as well be Australian with all the Campbells on the rez.
>>218242895Because spain doesnt have the cultural softpower the british isles do, you need wealth for that and spain is more like a middle eastern country
>>218242895You'd be surprised at how interconnected Latin America is informally. Most Latin Americans are relatively well aware of the latest happenings throughout the region, are pretty familiar with other national leaders, and tend to converge in the same communities online. Pink tides/conservative waves also occur simultaneously and end up spreading like wildfire. All things considered, it's fairly interconnected despite the political fragmentation.
If you're Manolo why bother with Panchito and Jose?
>>218242895They are. You just are not invited to their sipcolosphere internet. There are many huge online communities that don't speak English. EOPs can never access them...yet. Google translate has gotten better but still not good enough for you to pretend to be a local.
>>218242895Basically this >>218244524 or are you stupid enough to believe that we talk to each other in English?
>>218245097I just figured you guys were practicing your telenovelas.
>>218242895Well, Idk about anyone else but we Mexicans are unique because we descend from Mesoamericans. The rest of spics, specially Caribbeans and Southern Cone are interchangeable though
>>218245259You descend from the trees
>>218245825>armed guerillas from Mexico
>>218245841It was a monke joke
>>218245885I know... My brain went to Viet Cong anyway.
>>218242895What makes you believe we like them?As for south Americans, don't care for them
>>218242895because we're not the same race
>>218242895We're better
>>218243252>>218243440I'm talking about culture and race. Anglos don't talk to Africans and Indians not because they're ESL, but because they got nothing in common with them. It's the same for Spanish speakers.Latin Americans have a different culture because they descend from the natives, they were victims of colonialism. But in Anglo Saxon countries, the people are Anglo Saxon, they are cousins of the English, even Americans despite them being so mixed with European migrants, because their culture and history comes from England regardless.
>>218242895reggaeton war of independence
>>218242895>Why is the Anglosphere so connected but the Hispanosphere isn't?A majority of the Anglosphere never rebelled for one.
>>218242895>Hispanics know nothing of each other and sometimes even detest one another>tfIt's tiresome how matter of fact people like you speak when they are on the other side of the world with little to no interaction with us in any meaningful way, have practically none of us living in their country and likely don't even speak the language. You do it with such ease and all the confidence in the world.
>>218242895We are though >>218242944Es un troll, nos llevamos bien con los latinos (excepto los dominicanos, son casi tan malos como los moros).
>>218243252French was a prestige lang in many parts of the world well into the 80s, including Spain and Latin America.
Ireland, Germany and English emigrated to US in 1900s, Spanish emigrated to Latin America in 1900s in their Hard times. Why? Because similar culture and tight connections.
>>218248939>similar culturelol
>>218242895>English people are close to their former coloniesBecause we were surprisingly quite a nice coloniser. We much less brutal and mostly just let the people carry on with their lives as normal, while taking our piece of the pie.We were so goated. Shame colonialism is bad though :(
>>218246893>It's the same for Spanish speakers.Except it isn't. Picrel would be the equivalent of a CANZUK leader shilling for Kenya's president and then insisting for closer diplomatic exchanges because of coaligning ideologies and whatnot. And there's a lot more interaction between our nationalities, whether on a positive or negative note. Even Spaniards tend to be moderately well-aware of the most relevant political events in Latin American politics and tend to consider the region as 'western' or at least adjacent to it unironically. You don't get any of that with the rest of the English, French, or Dutch speaking world. Just plain indifference. I don't even think you get that type of close engagement between the French/Quebecois and Dutch/Afrikaners despite being genetically closer.
>>218242895anglosphere is connected because america dwarfs all other anglosphere countries, so really you are all just larping as americans. even us non anglosphere countries are larping as americans - watching american shows, listening to american music, copying american trends in fashion politics food anything really
>>218242895I suppose because Anglos aren't really connected to each other, they just find themselves gravitating around Americans. Hispanics have no reason to do that for any of them, they all also orbit the USA, without interacting with each other
so how often do you interact with nigerians and jamaicans
>>218251708>>218252729this
>>218251416>Because we were surprisingly quite a nice coloniserThere isn't a single example of a successful non-white British colony
