American cities were le hecking walkable and people used to bike/walk everywhere, there was a natural town center with all the shops, recreational areas etc just like in europe, up until line the 1960s or sometimes where decided to raze it all and replace it with supergigamegahighways of 10 lanes and demolish all town centers and replace them with suburbs and walmart box storesWhy though?
