>>218248130
Yes. We haven't had 2 consecutive weeks of temperatures below freezing and snowfall for years. I actually had to put proper winterized windshield washer fluid rated for -22°C in my car because the normal stuff freezes below -3°C.

Kinda. Don't remember last winter in my adult lifetime when the -10 degrees for a week was actually a thing, but when I was a kid it was normal for each winter to have -10/-20 for months with non stop snowfall.

We have those for light snow, but they're borderline useless if it's wet or half a metre deep.
>>
>>218255652
? works fine in my cunt. Do you use the pictured design or do you use this inferior north american design?
>>
>>218248130
yeah its been a few degrees colder than usual again, probably the first time in like 15 years? Very little snow in my area though, so despite it being colder there isn't actually more snow.
>>
>>218255839
you don't get snow based on how cold it is, but how wet it is. Colder air means dryer air which also means less snow. You get the most snow, just below freezing

>>
>>218255915
no shit, but if there was rainfall it would actually be snow and stay for more than a day right now.
>>
>>218255811
mine's ridged, reinforced along all of the edges, with some bars under the ridges, steel blade... It will push snow perfectly right up until it disappears completely or has like 200lbs of shit in it. That's when the shovel comes out... Possibly even the actual digging shovel if the ice is thick and needs a little active aggression.
>>
>>218255916
-3/-4C is about as cold as it will go.
-10C is a mythological temperature that my grandparents told me we used to experience back in the 60s.

>>218256677
You seem to be underestimating snow...
That would be piles, plural. Every metre or so. I can make pillars down my driveway, but if I want to get a car down it, I'll probably have to bust out the shovel once or twice a week.
>>
Took a walk and it was so cozy. Finally I can wear my -20 parka lol
>>
>>218258948
I still don't see how a shovel which takes more energy to move less snow would be better in any way. You might finish clearing with a shovel in tight spaces (like stairs etc.) but never as the main work horse.
>>
>>218255916
>>218256372

yes
also on the few cold days (below zero) in the UK it never snows. either cold and dry or mild and rainy in Winter
>>
>>218259379
At a certain point it's more effective at moving the snow, or ice as the case may be. Past a certain density or volume, the sled's completely useless.
I don't get why you're still not getting this. Picture the snow you move with yours, then make it deeper by about a three year old, and then dump some freezing rain on top.
>>
>>218253643
when was that?

How much wood do you use per day?
>>
>>218260766
i dont really keep count but maybe 7-8 medium sized logs per day, mostly spruce since thats what i have on hand
>>
>>218260766
I got two wood stoves heating my house (living room, bedroom) and I go through about 18-19 kg of wood per day. That's enough to keep my 91m2 house at a somewhat comfortable 18-19 degrees. Before I go to bed I toss a few extra pieces of wood in the bedroom stove so I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to do it.
