I'm about 1 month in and I think I got around 400 unique kanji inside words. I'm studying at least 6 hours a day because I have no life and I mostly absorb vocab from songs, twitter posts, 4chan posts and titles. I'm thinking of starting to read visual novels or manga once I hit 1000 unique kanji. I know I will get fucked regardless of how many words I know but I still want to hit that milestone before immersing myself fully in media. How long did it take you to understand the majority of the texts?
