Do you read books to memorize (as much as you can) what's written in them or do you read books for the sake of reading them (putting up your mind onto it, even though you'll memorize nothing)?
>>
you will always remember something, but it depends on the book, for fiction you mostly remember plot unless something really cool happens, like saruman throwing gandalf across the floor like a doll, otherwise it's just a-b-c-d etc
>>
i try to do the former but i end up doing the latter

What you are describing is text books (school).
I had to buy many hard copies in the past, but now my kids use online portals.
We also read books purely for pleasure. Some turn out to be not worth remembering.

What are some you have read?
