Is there any other country where an average street looks so comfy and walkable? Funny how an average Asian country could look the same if they just kept the same street grid and upgraded every piece of infrastructur but they'd rather demolish entire districts and build commieblocks surrounded by 8 lane highways

I want to go to Japan to bike the residential streets one day, is it a good idea? My worry is that these streets are still used by cars so you'd have to stop and see if they're coming at intersections whereas a pedestrian doesn't have to
