It comes to no surprise that Australians on 4chan's International board have historically been bitter and jealous of European Americans. Australia was established by Great Britain as a penal colony to address the problem of overcrowded prisons following the loss of its American colonies after the American Revolution. Australians seem to struggle with their identity. As Britain's position in the world has declined, so too has Aussies' willingness to associate themselves with Englishmen. And yet, unlike America, there is no epic war that represents the birth of the nation and the triumph of an ideology. Instead, Australia has one small and very overstated rebellion (Eureka), which is becoming increasingly popular as a reference point for divergence between motherland and colony, in no small part thanks to immigration from Asia, and a paper-based 'crisis' of constitution fifty years ago. Technology has made the world a smaller place, and unfortunately it seems to have brought globalization to Australia before it had properly developed a culture of its own. This makes a bitter and resentful people for what "could have been"

Very cool thread OP, keep it up.

The Eureka stockade is overrated and only leftists care about it. Traditionally most Australians are proud of the fact that our separation was peaceful while seeing the bloody american war of independence as an example of a bad outcome.

Nobody really cares about "cultural identity" because we are all anglos, just separated by the sea. Our culture is Shakespeare and the Magna Carta etc as it is for you, blood always comes first. No Anglo really considers himself a foreigner in another anglo nation.

Most Aussies though still have a delusion that America is still a white country and the good old boys they remember from the 80s are still the majority and in charge. They don't realise that America is a brown, anti white country run by jews and on the war path for Israel. No Aussies gives a fuck about the opinions of black "americans" or asian "americans" or mexican "americans", when they talk about americans they only care about real americans.

Our culture hates braggadocios behaviour, unwarranted success and materialism (even if these things are still present in our culture, most people have subconscious behaviours associated with their distaste). We are naturally anti-authoritarian (we are very lazy though - based - which is why we don’t do anything about it) due to being descended of criminals (again based and not pussy like all other European colonies). We are literally the antithesis of Americans. We are the heads and tails of white people. Yes I hate you, but I enjoy it.

this is cope. there were less than 200,000 actual convicts sent to australia, and millions of voluntary british migrants. it's more likely by odds that you don't have any convict blood in you whatsoever

The only people who struggle with our identity are those who for political reasons resent our British heritage. Those people want to slander our actual history and turn us into some brown blob of rootless slaves.
