mostly cinema, literature and philosophy, in minor part music, physics and math and some internet phenomenon like internet analog horror or other storytelling stuff
political/news shit it just a biased midwit slop based on nothing but midwit narratives

I'm not smart. I'm depressed about the state of the world but I keep listening to the news, and I prefer listening to unbiased(or to a certain degree, unbiased) news sources and analysts rather than the government propaganda that is mainstream news.
>>
>>218272648
Everytime I see these video essays, I click not interested, I have seen more than enough of retards rambling on the internet I just can't listen to them anymore, it's a counterproductive activity that serves no good for me
>>
>>218272852
Do you jave a job?
>>
>>218272913
Not right now, I'm looking for work.
>>
>>218272900
I don't know any of them but I'm sure they're biased like the others.
if you are depressed go for philosophy, it could end up with a meaning or end with total lack of it in a eternal quest for meanings, which is a meaning itself

Yes, really. America is a wasteland of asphalt and vast grey fields treated with artificial fertilizers. In my opinion, the highways are like tubes in a hamster cage that connects to other hamster cages. To live in a suburb is to live like a prisoner, really. Luckily for me, I live in a small town. It is walk able. It has a nice historic downtown with shops and businesses. Many Americans do not live in a community like this. I know practically everyone in my town. Most Americans don't even know their neighbors. Outside of cities and small towns, America is very strange.
>>
>>218272909
This, but only for opinion pieces. If someone wants to analyze something with actual datapoints rather than prove some half-assed thesis with clips like it's a college essay you did last minute I'm all for it. Unfortunately this is what education trains most people to do, make fluff essays and now we're all here complaining about how common it is. There needs to be a return to real journalism, the academic stuff is grating.
>>
>>218272648
I do but video essays are just slop, you can only learn stuff by reading

he's those kind of elitist faggots same like those niggers saying
>e-books is not reading, you need to smell the book maaaate
then they buy 200 book per year, """"read""" 100, assimilate none
>>
>>218272648
I use those kind of videos for English learning. Imagine learning English solely by brainrot contents
>>
>>218273032
this is true. I don't think I can remember a single thing I learned from a youtube video despite watching several every day. I distinctly remember many things I've learned from books.
>>
>>218272648
I just watch anime and soccer shorts
>>
>>218273154
I clearly remember some top-tier YouTube videos that inscribed into the deepest part of my brain
>>

post them

>It has a nice historic downtown with shops and businesses. Many Americans do not live in a community like this. I know practically everyone in my town
A cozy feeling, I can relate.
>>218273184
What kinda anime? Also til canadians call it soccer too. But it should've been obvious.
>>
>>218272648
Millennial opium
>>218273154
if you watch video after video all day long, you're not going to learn anything, even if the videos seem *smart* and educational to you. learning is more involved than passive consumption.
goes for books too, if you're putting in more effort than going over the pages, it's pointless.
>>
>>218273445
Its tedious to copy and paste all the videos with my phone posting on a bus.

>>
>>218273500
nta I watch some online courses on things like Wittgenstein or Godel and I remember it mostly because I take notes. Even soft philosophy like Slavoj Zizek is hard to retain without notes, if you're not marking the videos or outlining the thesis it's never going to help you understand anything.
>>
>>218273593
Unironically one of the best ways to retain knowledge might be making a YouTube lecture
>>
>>218273677
I kind of like this shift in content because it reminds me of older educational programming rather than the comedy garbage that populated the 2000s. There's terrible fart huffing content out there for sure, but it's overall more educational.
>>
>20 minutes long
Too short for me I'd rather watch a 6 hour long video essay of a young female physics teacher ranting about feynman and sexism because some guy was rude to her in her colleges library once

I actually leave my house on occasion and travel across this great nation so I know you're completely full of shit.

ok so you know exactly what i'm talking about then and you either love the cardboard bullshit ugly ass suburbs or you're talking about the nature. im not talking about the nature. im talking about metro areas. the places where people live are absolute wastelands and you need a car to do anything. I couldn't imagine how I would be employed without a vehicle.
